When an ex-convict trying to go straight is framed in a huge corporate scam, he must… he must… he must…

The logline sets up a situation and an inciting incident and the stakes are clear and high enough:  he’s in jeopardy of going back to jail for life.  Of course, he must prove his innocence, expose the real culprits.  That’s a no-brainer.   So  it doesn’t really qualify as a story hook.

The story hook would be in  what becomes his game plan.  What unique and interesting action — the core of the plot — does he undertake?

Hello,
I agree with the previous comment,

the interest of the movie is in what happens- what kind of corporate scam? Why/how is he framed in the scam?

“An ex-convict trying to get his life right “, this is a classic setting and it works fine but then I feel like I need something really ‘crazy’.

Agreed with the above also be specific what specifically must he do to achieve what specific goal?

Without these details the plot sppears generic in nature and not interesting as a result.

Hope this helps.
