Struggles with the people around him is a little vague.

If you give us a hint of that we will see how it impacts on the story.

The logical connection between the wife’s death and family’s homelessness is missing. In fact, I would claim the wife’s death is not the inciting incident, rather the story starts when the man loses the house.

      ?

When a single father of three, still mourning his beloved wife, loses his house to foreclosure, he struggles to keep his family safe and whole on the streets of LA (or whatever city you want to use for your story).

      Should this be in Examples?
