What is their mission? And if they are from a rival faction why are they on a mission together?

They shouldn’t be . As far as the protag is concerned, the travel guide researcher is an alter ego/secret identity. She’s just one of many assassins from her faction working for her government, taking out aliens posing for humans. She happens to be assigned to earth. Her buddy should have been a normal, oblivious human.

I’m still undecided why “Mastermind” engineered for them to be using the same undercover identity and to happen to be teamed up. One thought is to start a war, but this may develop as the show progresses.

What are the stakes?  Why does it matter whether one side or the other wins ?  Win what?  What’s the overarching objective goal of the team of non-rivals?

Thank you! I think, I will really have to go back to the beginning of the story. I’ll be back with a logline for the pilot and those questions answered.

How “comedy”?

variable Overlord Reviewed on June 13, 2018.

In your “bumbling alien pollutes the timeline…..again” logline, comedy was implied. How is this one comic?

Maybe you want the comedy to stem from how they “..secretly use their budding friendship to outwit the mastermind antagonist” but currently it doesn’t

???After discovering the ill will of his employers, an undercover alien must team up with his rival to outwit their master???

Indeed. Going to shift gears between two modes. One, comedy, staring the alter egos: The like-able, goofy cover identities. Probably sticking with it for a few episodes. Making a real guide, featuring local businesses. A real online tour guide for around here. The other story is the alien headhunter, doing her thing. Fairly dark, but not overly gory… also zero budget, with volunteers, so yeah lol. Possibly sticking with revealing only one to the audience at first. Them discovering each other, perhaps season finale? Or even better, only one realizing what the other is, but playing along for now.

Sounds fun for a TV Series. Loglining for the complete plot would be a real challenge (risking it sound ‘vague’), so maybe focus on each narrative chunk (or episode) independently…?

Yes, thank you! That was an obstacle, I was really struggling with. Maybe I’ll focus on the “pilot” for now. (which, in this case, will be a couple of mini episodes)
